a wee look and an au revoir

Been working a bit on jewelry and thought I would give readers a sneak peek. These pieces are one of a kind, sterling silver pendants. They measure approx. 1" square and have an image on both sides making them reverseable. I have been beading for years but it wasn't until recently that I have started selling. I have also discovered that it is impossible to take a decent picture of these pieces even with my new camera - actually, as I write this, I am thinking that perhaps it is the photographer... - anyhoo, here are some pieces.

I have also been handstamping charms (hard to read, but the brass tag says "wish") and adding them to some beaded creations combined with silver and semi precious stones. Here's a little sample:

and a larger piece, using African beads, Bali silver and semi precious stones:

There's your taste of what I have been working on. Now, off to finish packing and head down to France for two weeks. You have no idea how much sun my body needs after a long winter in the Artic! I am so white, my skin looks blue! Au Revoir!

new schtuff !

Alter Ego
4" x 6"
wrapped canvas

I have been very productive the past couple days. I am sure this has to do with my hubby finally being around. He is traveling the next two days however and that will mean no time in my studio, so I am trying to get caught up on as many things as I can! And, back by popular demand, a collage from my bird series. I have a few of these finished and ready to sell however sometime I am a bit reluctant as these take so many hours to complete. Anyway, here is one I will share.

Come Alone

approx. 9" x 12"

30 cm x 40 cm
wrapped canvas, painted sides

ALSO - I have some new jewelry in the works. Currently it is curing, but I plan to finish up some pieces and post them here on my blog. I will eventually put them on ebay as well but thought I would share with readers here first. Because I love to collage more than anything, these pieces are a combination of collage and traditional beading. I am interested in seeing how you like it! It is always nice to get some input! Stay tuned...

three, the magic number

Yes, week three of detox is here (actually, it was yesterday). I tell you, I have had it of tasteless gruel and decided to detox 80% of the time for the next two weeks which means still no milk products or wheat, but I can slip in my coffee and maybe a glass of wine in the evenings as well as have a piece of lean meat or fish for dinner. Funny, after two weeks of no dairy, I swear I can SMELL the milk in things! I licked off a spoon which had the baby's remaining yoghurt on it and almost gagged not to mention the SMALL chocolate piece I ate(oops, you got me...)and couldn't get the taste of sour milk out of my mouth for 30 minutes. uff da. I really hope it gets me off chocolate.

Anyway, these weeks have proven productive and I have not only added my "bird people" on ebay, but also a couple of other pieces I have had laying around taking up space. Click on an image to take you there... you can see that I have had "three" on my mind.
