and we're off...

Tomorrow that is. We are headed on a little trip around Scandinavia, hunting for a little better weather than we have had here in Southern Norway. 10 days in Denmark and then a long drive home through southwest Sweden, a brief overnight stay in Oslo and then to Bergen. The first two weeks will be a kids vacation loaded with beach and amusement parks. This is all ok because Paul and I will be leaving for a week alone to:

See you in three weeks! Happy summer

A bad week makes a turn for the better

Remember my week of peace, the one without the boys and just the little one? Well, as it turned out, my "angel" ended up being a nightmare. I think he missed his brothers and was taking it out on me. Also, Tuesday was my 14th anniversary, a day which my husband forgot. No matter, I figure now he owes me and I will be expecting a "just because" gift one of these days.
Just when I thought this week was doomed, I received a fantastic package in the mail, my trade with Corey! It is fantastic! So HER! I just hope she likes my piece as much as I like hers, it is exactly what I was hoping for!

I also finished a few pieces while Noah screamed on the floor. Will list this one on etsy shortly...

Hope your week was better than mine...

a week of peace

This week will be a quiet one as the two older boys are off to summer camp. Thought I would utilize these days and nights to the fullest sooooo, I decided to focus on tidying up, finish various projects and get some art finally listed on ebay and etsy. Of course, I still have Noah underfoot, but having one versus three is a big change!

Here is a large piece just listed on etsy (sorry, sold!).

Only 11 days until vacation. I hope I make it until then...

a lovely weekend

We have been reserving our Sundays for cabin searching. We are desperate for something in Southern Norway as the weather is warmer and the towns are charming. Didn't make much progress this Sunday however we did take a different way home and discovered a lot of hidden treasures. These wooden houses are remnants from a small society located here in the early 1800's. Notice how the overhang protects the houses from the elements? I can see that they look a little like doll houses in this picture. They were beautiful and I took the opportunity to take a lot of close pictures to use in future work. I realized that we don't often take advantage of what we have right outside our own back door! When was the last time you were in a tourist in your own home town?
